Elina Antsut comments on compensation for moral harm to Bigmir)net

Leading Ukrainian portal Bigmir)net published comments of senior lawyer of the Law Firm "Moskalenko & Partners" Antsut Elina with analysis of judicial practice on the recovery of non-pecuniary damage in disputes on protection of honor and dignity of citizens. Despite the fact that in dispute between the deputies of Ukraine court awarded compensation of UAH 20,000, ordinary citizens are usually awarded by the courts in similar disputes not more than UAH 1000-2000. Frequently the courts fully refuse to the plaintiffs citing the fact that the information spread by other party is the value judgments that do not entail any responsibility.
